The most popular facility at Saugahatchee is our 18 hole, par 72 golf course which is ranked one of the top five in the state by Golf Digest.  Our Ward Northrup designed championship course spans 6752 yards from the back tees with a rating of 72.4 and slope rating of 133. With a tee time always readily available to Members and their guests, our course is open six days a week year-round for Member play.

Many events dot the calendar throughout the year for men, women, and juniors. We regularly host tournaments for men and women golfers which are known as some of the best organized and entertaining competitions in the state. Other events including Member-Member, Member-guest, and couples events are offered from early Spring thru late Fall. Our PGA Golf Professionals and staff see that all operations at our course run professionally. Along with one-on-one and group instructions, we offer an active and diverse junior program led by PGA Golf Instructor, John King.

Services offered include men's and women's locker rooms, bag storage, practice range and greens, electric golf cart fleet, golf club repair, and lessons and clinics for all ages (beginning at 4 years old) and skill levels.

John King, PGA Professional, was named Top 50 Kids Teachers for 2007 by U.S. Kids Golf, Dixie PGA Teacher of the Year for 2007, and voted Top Junior Leader for Dixie Section 2009. 

Mike Voyles, Tennis Professional, was inducted into the Alabama Tennis Hall of Fame in 2010 and was named Alabama Tennis Professional of the Year 2000. After retiring from Opelika Parks & Recreation, Voyles continues to teach 6 days a week to a huge following of tennis enthusiasts.
